Introducing our latest carbon turbo tube for the FK8. This tube has a larger capacity allowing your turbo to work more freely and produce more power. Our turbo tube was designed with 3 main goals in mind:

1) Capacity: Inlet Diameter – The Eventuri is 78mm at the intake end, which has been increased to 88mm versus the stock 63mm. Starting at the connection to the intake system, we matched the MAF tube diameter and increased it to 88mm throughout the main section of the tube, a 96% increase in cross-sectional area compared to the OEM tube. Obviously, with the significantly increased internal diameter size, the Eventuri tube encapsulates a much larger internal volume and does not restrict the flow path to the turbo. This allows the turbo to operate more efficiently and spool up to peak boost levels quicker. It also allows the turbo to operate at peak boost with reduced turbine load.

2) Flow Quality: Large internal volume alone is meaningless if the flow path also allows for smooth airflow to the turbo. By using high temperature pre-preg carbon fiber, we were able to achieve a smooth internal surface. In contrast, standard inlet tubes are made from cast aluminum, which results in a rough internal surface. This, combined with the smooth curvature of the elbow, results in a flow path that minimizes turbulence.

3) Temperature: The final criterion was to minimize heat transfer to the airstream. A standard inlet connects directly to the turbo, so as soon as the turbo spins, it transfers heat. Our system uses a machined flange that connects to the turbo, and then a silicone coupler with an integrated thermal spacer to keep the carbon elbow from directly contacting the turbo. This barrier, combined with the poor thermal conductivity through the thickness of the carbon fiber, means less heat is transferred to the airstream.
